Running, or fitness in general, wasn’t always something I enjoyed doing. In school, physical education classes were my least favorite, and for a long time, my hobbies only consisted of video games and anything dealing with a computer. However, in 2015, several of my cousins and I decided to challenge ourselves by doing the runDisney Disneyland Half Marathon. Little did I know, crossing my first finish line would change the way I viewed fitness, and specifically, the sport of running.
Nearly 7 years after crossing that finish line, I still continue to run, having completed 6 marathons, 17 half marathons, and a handful of smaller distance races, and of course all the training miles in between. In between all those runs, I’ve always thought about finding a way to share my fitness journey with others. I tried YouTube thing, but making quality videos took too much time. There’s also Instagram. While less effort to make content there, it does get distracting with content you can mindlessly scroll through. So now, I’m going to try good, old-fashioned writing.
This is where I introduce “Going to Run,” my running blog where I hope to share my experiences with running. Hopefully this can help inspire or motivate others to get into the sport, or keep going, but also just becomes a way for me to just record some memories that I can look back to and say, “that was a cool race - I should do that again.” Over time, I want to make this a place where I can share stories and recaps about my races, updates and plans on training, and share my thoughts and reviews on latest fitness gear such as running watches or the latest shoes.
If this is something you might want to follow along, I invite you to subscribe - or if too much, just give me a follow on Instagram where I do plan to post shorter form content for others to enjoy.
